Golf Guest Regulations

  • No individual shall play golf as a guest more than five times per year and this includes family guests and grandchildren.
  • All guest play must register in the Golf Shop prior to play.
  • All unaccompanied guest play must be approved by the head golf professional.
  • A member may sponsor up to two foursomes provides he/she plays in one of the groups and makes prior arrangements with the head golf professional.
  • Members bringing guests will be responsible for their guest’s conduct and compliance with all club policies and fees.
  • Member-sponsored informal groups involving guests must be limited to four foursomes between Memorial Day-Labor Day and receive approval from the golf committee.
  • Guest rounds played in club sponsored events do not count toward the five round limit.

Course Etiquette 

  • All holes are to be played in the proper rotation. You must have permission from the professional staff to crossover from #6 to #15 at any time. 
  • You must receive permission from the professional staff to start on a hole other than #1.  Players not starting on hole #1 will have to wait their turn when returning to #1 if there are groups waiting to tee off.
  • Single players and twosomes have no special privileges in playing through foursomes or special placement on the golf course.
  • Fivesomes are not permitted without permission from the professional staff.
  • Children must be 13 years of age to use the golf course without a parent and they must meet with the head golf professional for a golf course orientation prior to playing for the first time without a parent.  Minor children 13 and older must follow the golf course availability chart or get permission from the professional staff to play otherwise. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent to use the golf course or the practice facilities.

Pace of Play

  • All members and guests should play at a pace to complete nine holes in two hours and 18 holes in four hours. 
  • Keep pace with the group in front of you at all times.
  • You are allowed three minutes to search for lost golf balls.
  • Allow faster groups to play through if your pace has allowed holes to open up in front of you. 

Dress Code

  • Proper golf attire must be worn at all times on the golf course and all practice facilities. 
  • Apparel such as jeans/denim, jogging or athletic shorts, halter tops, leggings by themselves and t-shirts are inappropriate.
  • Men must wear shirts with collars and sleeves.  Women must wear shirts with either a collar or sleeves.
  • Shorts and skirts must extend to mid-thigh length.
  • Members are responsible for informing guests in advance of the dress code. 

    Golf Cart Regulations

  • You must have a valid driver’s license to rent a golf cart. 
  • Privately owned golf carts may not be used for play on the golf course at any time.
  • Two passengers is golf cart capacity. 
  • All bags on a golf cart will be charged the appropriate cart rate.
  • Posted directional signs must be observed and followed.
  • Damage to the course from cart use is the responsibility of the driver.
  • Golf carts should stay on cart paths where possible and no closer than 30 feet to tees and greens.  Golf carts should not be driven between greens and bunkers or between cart paths and tees.

Handicaps

Handicaps established and monitored by the Chenequa Country Club golf staff are administered by the Wisconsin State Golf Association. All tournament golf requiring an official WSGA handicap shall be overseen by the head golf professional. Any disputes over handicap administration or the rules of golf must be referred to the head Golf Professional. His decision shall be final.
 

Corporate Golf Outings

  • Member-sponsored outside groups may be held on Mondays, schedule permitting.
  • These events must involve a minimum of 72 players for golf, lunch and dinner
  • Golf outing requests shall be coordinated through the head golf professional and club manager and will submitted for Board approval.
  • The sponsoring member will be responsible for all fees and the conduct of the outing participants.

Cell Phone Use

Please be certain to have your phone (and those of your guests) set to a silent mode when on the course.  If you must take or make a call, please move to an area where you will not disturb fellow players or impede the pace of play.
